Fall: The Season of Female Flicks

September Issue premieres on Friday and Nora Ephron's Julie and Julia is a box office hit. The news of the last year has been bleak to say the least, and here we have some incredible events to report for sure.

Films about women, successful women, where men play a secondary role, are creating huge revenues for Hollywood studios. The scenario was unthinkable just a few years ago. Now we can say with confidence that stories about women are not only critical to tell but profitable too.

Meryl Streep, whose current age once signaled the sunset of any actress's career, continues her position as an A-lister. She's treading in uncharted waters and paving the way for future actresses.
